Welcome to the Joy Baby Complex web site.
A Ministry for Unfortunate Children
in Awendo and Ndhiwa, Kenya, East Africa

We are Rev. Peter and Rachel Midodo. We are Pastors in the western part of Kenya, East Africa. peter and rachel3 350

In 1998, the Lord clearly spoke to us to reach out to the desperate village children. Poverty is very severe in this part of the world. It is sad that these innocent children are perishing. Both the Government and society seem to have no answer to this problem.

My wife and I started to bring these children into our home. As we gathered more children, and as the Lord provided, we built a facility to take care of these children during the day. Some live with us, most return to a home with a relative who struggles to survive.

We offer them day care to minister to their physical and spiritual needs. We currently minister to 150 children and have 8 teachers. We have outgrown our capacity. We are currently turning away many needy children.

We are praying to God to provide the resources to expand this ministry. We believe that as a united body of Christ, we can touch their lives. Among these children are some who will reach the world with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. We welcome you to be part of what God is doing in Kenya, East Africa.

Below is a picture of us on the 2 acre parcel of land and the new building that God has provided. We are so excited to see Him work. This is the first of several buildings we are praying for God to provide.

God has richly blessed us.  We now offer grades pre-school to 4th.  In 2009 We intend to expand to 6th grade.  We minister to 150 children now.

This site is in a village called Ndhiwa about 20 Kilometers (12.5 US miles) from our current facility in Awendo. Ndhiwa is the town with the highest child mortality rate in Kenya. The current HIV infection rate in this area is 50%. It is one of the most depressed area of Kenya.

It has two classrooms and we hope to add 8 more classrooms. We are also praying for kitchen, bathroom, a water system dormitories and playground equipment.

With these facilities we can educate 1st to 8th grade. With the dormitories we can house those that have no home.

Please look throughout this web site and pray if God would have you be a part of our ministry. Meet some of the children and review our long-term objective. Should God touch your heart, there are instructions to donate money or items. We would be blessed to hear from you, even to say you are praying for us.
